Welcome to the Human Relations Department

Our Department fulfills three vital functions:

Human Resources

We believe in recruiting, hiring, developing, and supporting outstanding employees who will work in a respectful, trusting, and collaborative environment to inspire each and every student to persevere as critical thinking individuals who collaborate to solve real-world problems.

Customer Service

We believe in Vista Unified School District's values, which include Respect, Trust, and Collaboration. The Human Relations department believes we should model these values in service to you.

Public Information

We believe our community is entitled to accurate and timely information. We believe we should also celebrate our students, staff, and community in a variety of mediums that reflect the diversity of our district. We believe our district to be a great choice for families within and outside our district attendance boundaries.

In January, 2015 a new law went into effect which allows for a risk assessment to be used as an approved means by which an employee may be in compliance with Education Code 49406.
Should you need to update your TB clearance, this is what you should do:

  • Contact the VUSD school nurse assigned to your site or the nearest school site to your location.
  • Make an appointment to engage in the VUSD Risk Assessment. This is a free, quick, and painless questionnaire, and only takes a few minutes.
  • If you do not exhibit any identified risk factors, you will be provided a Certificate of Completion.
  • Submit the Certificate of Completion to Human Relations.
  • If risk factors are identified, you will need to go to an approved health care provider at your own expense and submit to an approved intradermal tuberculin test or other tests for tuberculosis infection that is recommended by the CDC and FDA. If the test is positive, the test shall be followed up by an X-ray of the lungs by a qualified X-ray technician. A certificate of clearance will then be submitted to Human Relations.

Should you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact us in Human Relations at ext. 92210
