The Vista Unified Sports and Extracurricular Activities Sprint Team, comprised of teacher leaders, administrators, and the ASB, athletic, and band directors from all three comprehensive high schools, began to identify and create procedures to maintain and support athletic programs, visual and performing arts programs, and extracurricular activities offered at the schools while ensuring the procedures are responsive to the state and county health and safety requirements. Currently, we are waiting for further guidance from the CA COVID-19 Industry Guidance for School-based Sports and Extracurricular activities and the COVID-19 Aerosol Study to ensure that we are developing procedures that allow our students to participate in sports and extracurricular activities in a safe and responsible manner.
