Board Member Feedback - Health & Safety Preparation and Learning Model Structure

  • Proactive work toward social/emotional support for students. This would include gathering data and providing additional communication with students to identify social/emotional needs.
  • Athletic groups on campus for conditioning
  • Secondary virtual bells or reminders for virtual learning
  • Ensure student social distancing for lunch.
  • Permanent or portable sinks must be in place at sites prior to opening.  Schedule for installation should be based on priority.
  • Paper towel dispensers need to be functional prior to reopening.
  • Grade level plans aligned with current lesson plans for independent study that school site generates for 10 or 14 day quarantines. Consider Home Hospital option versus independent study for students on 10 or 14 day quarantines.
  • Provide list of job duties/expectations that custodial staff will complete each day.   Job duties should be specific to classrooms, restrooms, etc.
  • Ensure that restrooms are cleaned multiple times per day, including soap and towel filling/replacement as needed.
  • Staff to receive proper training for any cleaning chemicals used in classrooms.
  • Ensure that all staff are tested as per state and county guidelines (every two months or as needed). Investigate the possibility of testing all staff monthly.
